I. Facts of Nigerian Copyright Commission v. Genuss Investment Ltd.
The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) instituted an action against the accused, Genuss Investment Ltd. The accused was charged with the infringement of software in which copyright belonging to another subsisted.
II. Judgement
The accused was convicted by the Federal High Court in Lagos. Justice Idris, delivering judgement on June 16, 2012 in charge No. FHC/L/460C/2011, convicted the accused of software piracy and imposed a fine of ₦11,000.
